The 1st Women’s Film festival held in Chennai from 1-8 March 2008 was a phenomenal
success. It had an audience turnout of approximately 5000 people over 8 days. Encouraged by this
response and the extremely positive feedback that we have received from both individuals and the
media, we are delighted to announce that the 2nd edition of the Women’s Film Festival will be held in
Chennai from 1- 8 March, 2009. The 2nd Women’s Film Festival will be presented by InKo Centre in
collaboration with the Women’s International Film Festival in Seoul (WIFF), the National Film
Development Corporation (NFDC) and the National Film Archives of India (NFAI) along with a host of
partners including key cultural organizations and national Embassies in India.
In its second year, the Women’s Film Festival will focus on a strong Korean and Indian section of
feature films, short films and documentaries as well as a section on World Cinema in all three categories.
This year promises a rich haul with films from approximately 25 countries over 8 days; an
international seminar and related wraparound events.
