Sanare- A riveting blend of traditional Korean and Western instrumentation.



Presented by

Sanare is a music group that harmoniously blends traditional Korean and Western instruments to create music that appeals with its variety and timbre. The instrumentation includes the gayageum, daegeum, violin, cello and piano. Sanare, meaning Angel’s wing in Korean, presents music that heals and restores hope.

AccessMusic is a series that aims to provide talented emerging musicians with a space to share original scores and songwriting with those who relate to music as essential and energizing. The ambience is relaxed, intimate, so that the musical connect is immediate, meaningful and inclusive. Presented in collaboration with Unwind Centre, this series which is all about access to and through music, places creativity and musical prowess centre stage even while recognizing the power of the arts as a critical enabler, to foster inclusion and reflection to change hearts and minds.

Lassi and Chai

Lassi and Chai is a group of young Koreans in their 20s and 30s who reside in Chennai for work and share a passion for music. Although they may be amateurs in terms of skill, their love for music and enjoyment thereof shines through!

The group plays classic Korean songs from all generations, transcending age barriers. They mostly rearrange songs from the 70s and 80s, which were known for embodying the Korean sentiment, into more accessible performances that people of all ages can enjoy. As a result, they offer a new and unique type of music that differs from the K-pop genre.

Representing the young Korean community in India, Lassi and Chai love to collaborate with other communities in Chennai. Their goal is to communicate with people from different cultural backgrounds through music, to understand their charm, and explore new possibilities.

Lassi and Chai are currently planning their third performance at InKo Centre. This time, special guests like Pinkloid, an amateur Japanese band and an Indian singer will be collaborating with Lassi and Chai. Don't miss the chance to experience their unique blend of Korean music in Chennai !

Madhura Dhara

Madhura Dhara is a talented singer with a background in Carnatic music. She completed her diploma in Carnatic music at the prestigious Kalakshetra Foundation in 2019. Madhura made her debut as a playback singer and has since been honing her vocal skills as a coach. In addition to her singing career, she is also pursuing training to become a music therapist. Her multifaceted journey in the world of music is a testament to her dedication and passion.

Shigehiko Tanaka

Mr. Shigehiko Tanaka, a dedicated office professional, currently stationed in Chennai, is a member of the amateur Japanese band, Pink Kloymo, CKB. With over 16 years experience in playing the guitar, he displays a rich tapestry of skill and unwavering passion to his musical pursuits. Pink Kloymo, CKB primarily connects with the Japanese community in Chennai, imparting joy and entertainment to their discerning audience.

Despite the rigorous demands of his daily professional life, Mr. Tanaka discovers solace and delight in the art of playing the guitar which serves as a medium for self-expression and a source of inspiration for those fortunate enough to witness his exceptional talent.

InKo Centre & Pyeongchang ARTccc are delighted to present an Indo-Korean exhibition that celebrates the singularity and similarity of Indian and Korean artistic trajectories. The exhibition, first held in Pyeongchang, Korea will now be presented in Chennai.

The Directors of Pyeongchang ARTccc, Soonyoung Yang and Bongmyoung Choi, have visited India eight times to learn Indian culture to interact with Indian artists. Their focus has been, in particular the state of Tamil Nadu which they feel has a great cultural affinity to to particular regions in Korea.

Pyeongchang ARTcc and InKo first held a Korea-India art exchange exhibition in 2019. In 2023, this collaborative model returns with a vibrant exhibition that showcases the work of Korean and Indian visual artists. An workshop will complement the exhibition and will provide an opportunity to actively understand the artistic vocabularies of both countries.

Cafe Dokebi @ InKo Centre, aims to present a menu that is playful, providing a twist to the traditional and like the Dokebi, or goblin in Korean folklore, likely to surprise you!

Apart from an interesting menu, the cafe displays select Korean souvenirs , as well as logo printed goods that will give you a feel of Hallyu, the K-wave that is now spreading across the world!

To celebrate the performance of Lassi and Chai, at the next edition of AccessMusic at the Gallery@ InKo Centre, Chai-Latte and cookies will be added to the menu at Dokebi.
