My art is a tribute to the profound cycle of life, emerging from and returning to the natural elements. This connection to life is both a physical and emotional journey for me. My creations are more than just a display of skill or a manipulation of the medium - they are an expression of my unity with the world. Working with clay, I feel akin to a farmer tilling the soil – the clay and I are partners in creation. Ceramics, inherently linked to earth, nature and the elements, is my chosen medium to convey my deepest feelings and emotions. Inspired by the evolution and beauty of the earth, my work reflects the physical characteristics of our planet – the land, water and fire. These elements are the fundamental inspirations for the forms and patterns in my art. I enjoy pushing the boundaries of the materials I use and experimenting with ceramics in various installations. My aspiration is to share the unique language of ceramics with the global art community, inviting others to engage with and contribute to its evolution.

We are delighted to present My Father Is Afraid of Water ( Hindi - Papa Ko Pani Se Dar Lagta Hai) a film by Prateek Rajendra Srivastava, a Mumbai-based filmmaker. The film has been showcased at multiple international film festivals, including prestigious Korean festivals such as the Seoul International Senior Film Festival, the Supbatdeul Mountain Village Film Festival, and, most recently, the Busan Inter-City Film Festival, garnering acclaim at each. The film portrays a touching true-life story of a son and his aging father. As roles reverse, the son becomes the primary caregiver to his father, who has been struck down with Alzheimer’s. The film captures, with compassion, the highs and lows of this journey—their bond tested yet strengthened as father and son navigate uncharted waters and a multitude of emotions. This story will resonate with anyone who has aging parents who, once strong and independent, are now dependent on their children for protection and guidance. "My Father Is Afraid of Water" is a poignant testimony to the power of love and compassion in countering the inevitable, irreversible ebb and flow of time. In May of this year, we supported Prateek Srivastava's travel to Korea to present his film at the prestigious Seoul International Senior Film Festival, where it competed against 19 other selected titles from around the world.
The filmmaker will be present for a discussion, post the screening of the film.
Director’s Statement
In the midst of your dreams, how deeply will you embrace the responsibility of caring for your parents when they need and rely on your support?
Taking care of my father with dementia has taught me a great deal about patience, empathy, and the value of time spent with loved ones. Additionally, it challenges me every day to strive towards becoming a better version of myself. His wrinkled skin, grey hair, indistinct speech, stooped body, and the slow pace at which he walks serve as constant reminders that time is passing by. Therefore, while my work can wait for a while, these precious moments with my father, once gone, will never return.
In a world where a cure for Alzheimer's remains elusive, let us remember that our selfless love, care, and unwavering devotion have the potential to be potent remedies.

My work is about energy. Energy moves life and objects dynamically, repeating creation and extinction, expansion and convergence behind everything in the world. Generated Energy is a work that expresses the explosive expansion and attraction of that energy, and contains the power to fulfill the aspirations and wishes in the hearts of those who view this work. Each divided work is connected as a single work in itself, creating a synergy effect. Because in the world of energy, one plus one can become not two but four and eight. The work expresses that although people and objects, people and the world, and people and the universe appear separate on the outside, they are all connected as one through energy. This is not a subjectively created world of works but the truth of this universe. This truth is my driving force in creating art.

I focus on the theme of 'Excursion'. After living a busy life both at home and at work for a long time, I look forward to a trip and a break from busy daily life. Such excursions are always like finding an oasis. We all work hard for success and a better life. The scenery that I encountered during my daily life or trips, was created through communication with Nature or through memories. In the work, our family and friends are expressed in white words. To ascend, succeed and achieve one’s dreams I hope it will be sublimated by relaxation and healing through an outing with Nature. This is what I aim to put on canvas.

I am a Korean artist who has been practising brush-making for 42 years. Living in a world where I didn't know what to do, I didn't want to draw a sad picture. I believe that "there can be no past or future without the present". I decided to pour it in and brush it. I have tried to capture Nature with various materials and techniques without being bound either. I hope to share the unique scent of Korean painting and offer the gift of hope to all.
