The “2023 Korea-India Artist Camp” took place on Nami Island from September 5th to 14th, commemorating the 50th anniversary of Korea-India diplomatic relations. During this period, 10 Korean and 10 Indian artists came together to exchange ideas, draw inspiration from each other, and create artworks.
Each participating artist interpreted the theme 'Tagore and Nature - A River' and produced pieces that reflect their unique characteristics. The traveling exhibitions will showcase their works to audiences across Korea and India. The exhibition aims to showcase the artworks of talented Indian and Korean artists to audiences across Korea and India in order to meaningfully strengthen cultural exchanges between the two countries.

Nami Island Arts & Education, a company that conducts various international exchanges, cultural projects and educational projects is based on Nami Island, a representative tourist destination in Korea. Nami Island's connection with India and its culture began almost two decades ago with the 2005 exhibition of picture book illustrations by A. Ramachandran. This was followed by an exhibition on Mahatma Gandhi, India's great spiritual leader in 2010 and a painting exhibition in 2013 with the Indian poet Tagore's 'Gitanjali' as its central motif. Since Korea and India established a “special strategic partnership” in 2015, “Sarang: The Festival of India-Nami Island” has been held annually in cooperation with the Indian Embassy and the Indian Cultural Center in Korea. Every year, Nami Island transforms into a cultural hub where visitors from home and abroad can experience the vibrant and captivating Indian culture through diverse performances, exhibitions and other hands-on experiences.
The exhibition will open at The Gallery @ InKo Centre on Tuesday, 30 January 2024 at 6.00 p.m.
and will be on view until Tuesday, 20 February 2024.
(except Sundays and published holidays).
